Multiple people injured as Metrobus crashes into cars on Rockville Pike

ROCKVILLE, Md. (7NEWS) —
An accident involving a WMATA bus injured multiple people on Sunday.

According to Montgomery County Fire, the accident involved a Metrobus and several other vehicles.
The bus collided with a car, ultimately causing a chain reaction involving three other cars at about 12:20 p.m. on Rockville Pike (355) at Congressional Lane, Montgomery County Police say.
Firefighters say six people were injured in the accident. Four people were taken to the hospital and three of them were trauma alerts. There were no passengers on the bus.
One lane of Rockville Pike at Congressional Lane is closed.
The Collision Reconstruction Unit is on scene and the area is expected to be shut down for several hours.
