BOSTON -- Kyle Schwarber is out of the Red Sox’ lineup Sunday afternoon as Boston tries to win its fifth game in a row and secure a sweep over the Orioles at Fenway Park.

Schwarber is sitting because the Orioles are starting a left-hander (Alexander Wells) and Sox manager Alex Cora wanted to get Bobby Dalbec in the lineup. Alex Verdugo is starting in left field.

“It’s just Bobby. Let’s put it that way,” Cora said. “Bobby has to play against every lefty and you have to pick and choose with Alex and Kyle. That’s the bottom line.”

Schwarber and Verdugo will both start both games against the Mets -- who are starting righties Marcus Stroman and Taijuan Walker -- this week. On Sunday, Kevin Plawecki is catching Nathan Eovaldi.

First pitch from Fenway is scheduled for 1:10 p.m. ET.
