The Atlanta Hawks made one of the best trades this offseason. They moved deep bench pieces Kris Dunn and Bruno Fernando in a trade they had to make. They received Delon Wright in return. Wright is a very good backup guard who has been in the league for six seasons.

In his first three and a half seasons, Wright played with the Toronto Raptors. He did not really get a huge amount of opportunity there playing behind Kyle Lowry and the rest of a really solid guard unit. It took Wright being traded to open up his potential.

When he went to the Memphis Grizzlies in the 2019 season, Wright started to get some decent minutes which allowed him to average 12.2 points, 5.4 rebounds, 5.3 assists, and 1.6 steals in 30.8 minutes per game.

The Atlanta Hawks and Delon Wright could be a match made in heaven

With the exception of his season with the Dallas Mavericks where he backed up Luka Doncic, Wright has been a tremendous player for the teams that he has been on. He played for the Detroit Pistons last season before being traded to the Sacramento Kings for the final part of the season.

Wright has the ability to play both guard roles which means that he can play either alongside Young or in the playmaking role when the star makes his way to the bench. He can also play alongside Bogdan Bogdanovic, Lou Williams, and Kevin Huerter, taking pressure off the rest of the team with his play.

Now, let’s take a look at the 3 legends Delon Wright needs to study.
