The LA Rams moved interior offensive line Austin Corbett from offensive center to his former offensive right guard position. While we can debate the reasons why such a move was made, there is no denying the outcome of that move. Corbett will get a tough draw in week two, as he will oppose the Indianapolis Colts defensive lineman DeForest Buckner. That’s a tough draw folks.

In week one, Bucker was responsible for one quarterback sack and six tackles in the Colts opener against the Seattle Seahawks. For his effort, the analysts at Pro Football Focus gave him a pedestrian grade of just 59.6 for week one. He will be looking to improve on that 2021 performance grade and be looking to do so at the expense of the LA Rams and offensive lineman Austin Corbett.

Big production from a bid man

The 6-foot-7 300-pound defensive lineman is very familiar with the LA Rams, having played four seasons with the San Francisco 49ers. During that time, he was one of the key defensive players who helped the 49ers compete in Super Bowl LIV. After that loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, the 49ers believed that they could not afford to re-sign Buckner and instead traded him to the Colts for the 2020 13th overall pick that netted them, Javon Kinlaw.

In just his first season with the Colts, Buckner helped lead the team to an 11-5 record and was voted the team’s MVP after chalking up 9.5 quarterback sacks and 58 combined tackles. He is already well on his way to better those lofty numbers.

LA Rams Austin Corbett is not tiny by any means. He stands 6-foot-4 and weighs in at 306-pounds, and has been one of the Rams’ most consistent offensive linemen over the past two years. Even so, he may need help today to keep Buckner at bay, as the Rams will most certainly need Matthew Stafford comfortable in the pocket again to win this one.
