Nicolas Cage's meta-movie The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent will no doubt be watched by millions of fans, but not him.
In a recent interview with Collider, the Oscar-winning actor revealed that his exaggerated, fictional portrayal of himself would be too much to deal with as a spectator.
Set for release next spring, Unbearable Weight sees billionaire drug kingpin Javi (The Mandalorian star Pedro Pascal) offering a down-on-his-luck Cage $1 million to attend his birthday party.

"I'm never going to see that movie. I'm told it's a good movie," stated Cage. "My manager Mike Nilon, who is also a producer on it, looked at it. He was very happy. I'm told the audience loved the movie.
"But it's just too much of a whacked-out trip for me to go to a movie theater and watch me play [director] Tom Gormican's highly neurotic, anxiety-ridden version of me. Because he kept pushing me in that direction.
"I said: 'Tom, that's not really me. I'm really [made of] quiet, meditative, thoughtful moments. I'm not this neurotic, high-strung, anxiety-ridden guy all the time.' But he said: 'Well, neurotic Cage is the best Cage.' I said: 'Okay, okay. Let's go, man. I'll do what you want.'
"I won't see it. But I do hope you enjoy it," he concluded.

Cage (pictured above in new revenge flick Pig) and Pascal are joined by a slew of intriguing names here, including The Matrix Resurrections actor Neil Patrick Harris, Catastrophe's Sharon Horgan, The Card Counter's Tiffany Haddish and Master of None star Alessandra Mastronardi.
They're not playing themselves, though.
The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent arrives in cinemas April 2022.
