The Pizza Hut located in Allegheny Plaza in Allegheny Township (left) will relocate to Hyde Park Plaza, located on the other side of the Route 56 Bypass and occupy an existing storefont. Dine-in will no longer be offered — only takeout and delivery. A timeline for when the relocation will take place was not available.

A Pizza Hut will soon occupy one of the vacant spaces in Hyde Park Plaza, located in Allegheny Township. The restaurant is relocating from Allegheny Plaza, located across the street in Allegheny Plaza. The new location will only offer takeout and delivery — no dine-in service.

The Pizza Hut in Allegheny Township is relocating, but you won’t be able to eat inside.

Pizza Hut is now at 510 Hyde Park Road in Allegheny Plaza, next to Big Lots.

It’s moving to the Hyde Park Plaza, which is within sight of the Allegheny Plaza.

The restaurant will occupy an existing space in Hyde Park Plaza, said Mara Mrvos of Pittsburgh based J.J. Gumberg Co.

Mrvos said in-person dining will not be offered at the new location. It will offer takeout and delivery only.

There are multiple empty storefronts in Hyde Park Plaza. She could not provide a timeline on when the move would happen or which vacant storefront the plaza will move in to.

Hyde Park Plaza is owned by Mike Bozzone of Cheswick and leased by J.J. Gumberg Co. Bozzone said new businesses are in the works for the struggling strip shopping center.

It lost its largest anchor store, Big Kmart, in 2019 and that storefront remains empty.

During its high occupancy heyday, Hyde Park Plaza once housed GNC, Radio Shack, Big Kmart and Peebles — all of which have closed.

“A lot of tenants are interested, but nothing is finalized,” said Bozzone of potential new businesses.

Bozzone said Pizza Hut originally desired to have a freestanding location, but setbacks and subdividing issues made it unfeasible.

“It won’t be as big,” Bozzone said. “But I think it will be good for the retail environment.”

Representatives from Pizza Hut were not available for comment or to provide a reason for the upcoming relocation.

It remains unclear what will happen with the current Pizza Hut building after the business relocates.
