POUGHKEEPSIE – A Friday raid at the troubled apartments at 60 Carroll Street resulted in the arrest of a federal fugitive.  The 1:30 p.m. warrant execution was made by members of the City of Poughkeepsie Neighborhood Recover Unit (NRU) and the FBI Safe Streets Task Force.

The lawmen served the federal arrest warrant at 60 Carroll Street, Apartment C3, and arrested 31-year-old Michael Wardlaw-Brown.  Brown was found illegally occupying the apartment and taken into custody.

In May of this year, Wardlaw-Brown and another subject were sleeping when the same apartment was raided at 5:00 a.m.  After being shaken from slumber on that morning, Wardlaw-Brown and Winston White, age 28 were arrested and transported to the US District Court – Southern District of New York.  The suspects were arraigned on multiple federal gun and narcotics-related charges.  They were in the custody of the US Marshall’s Service.

Wardlaw-Brown was apprehended on a warrant for a bail violation stemming from a previous federal weapons investigation.

Wardlaw-Brown was handcuffed without incident, removed from the building, and transported to City of Poughkeepsie Police headquarters by a uniformed officer.  He was processed and later transported to an undisclosed Federal Detention Facility.
