An affordable housing lottery has launched for units at 2369 and 2377 Hoffman Street, an adjacent pair of four-story residential buildings in the Belmont section of The Bronx, as reported by YIMBY.

 

Designed by Gerald Caliendo Architects, the structures each yield eight, residential units. NYC Housing Connect is the housing portal of NYC Department of Housing, Preservation & Development (HPD), which New Yorkers can use to find and apply for affordable housing opportunities across the five boroughs.

 

Available on the portal are six units for residents at 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $72,000 to $167,570.

Residents will reportedly have access to a shared laundry room and security cameras, and the apartments include name-brand appliances and finishes, air conditioning and dishwashers. Some have private outdoor space.

 

At 130 percent of the AMI, there are two one-bedroom units with monthly rent of $1,800 for incomes ranging from $61,715 to $139,620, and four two-bedroom units with monthly rent of $2,000 for incomes ranging from $68,572 to $167,570.

Prospective renters must meet income and household size requirements to apply for the apartments, and applications must be postmarked or submitted online no later than Sept. 27, 2021.

Tenants are responsible for electricity and gas which includes stove, hot water, and heat.
