Another year of ROMP has come to an end and attendees left the Yellow Creek grounds satisfied with the music and atmosphere of the annual Festival.

Mary Jo Stinnett said that while this isn’t her first ROMP, this year’s festival is among her favorite. Stinnett and her friend Ellen Wolford came Friday and Saturday night and said both nights were full of great music and atmosphere.

“[ROMP] is real laid back, so that’s nice. I love the music and it’s great for our community. I love it for Owensboro,” Stinnett said.

Both said their favorite performer they saw was Tommy Emmanuel on Friday night.

“He’s a great performer, I’d come back just for him,” Wolford said.

ROMP had a tented area for businesses and food for the guests and local businesses, like Gene’s Health Food and The Spot. Some however make the trip for ROMP each year.

Dimple’s Dyes based out of Springfield, Illinois, has been making the trip for five years now and considers ROMP one of her favorite festivals.

“I love it here. This is my vibe. These are my people. Also, I love festivals where there’s tons of families and kids and dogs. And everybody, for the most part, behaves themselves and has a really nice time,” owner Dimples said.

Along with the customers and the vibe that ROMP presents, she said the music set is what keeps her coming back and “will always be on my list.”
