Duluth Denfeld spotted Hibbing-Chisholm a pair of early goals but Joe Eklund's hat trick led a big Duluth Denfeld surge to a 7-2 victory in the third game of a Lake Superior Conference Day quadrupleheader at Corey Veech Field at Centricity Stadium in Hermantown on Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021.
Jacob Jensrud scored twice in the first 17 minutes for Hibbing-Chisholm, but the Hunters scored the last seven goals unanswered, three from Eklund (who also had an assist) and one apiece from Gus Haugen, Parker Chastey, Caleb Kilroy and Calvin Kinziger. Conrad Lazzarro made three saves for Denfeld.
Proctor 3, Hermantown 3 (2OT)
In a back-and-forth affair to cap LSC Day, Kennan Reyelts' game-tying goal in the 57th minute for Proctor ended up being the last one.
Jason Broska had a goal and assist for the Hawks.
In the other LSC Day games, Grand Rapids defeated Cloquet-Esko-Carlton 2-1 in overtime and Duluth Marshall topped Superior 3-1.

The host Eskomos broke through late, scoring all three of their goals in the last 20 minutes, from Gwen Lilly, Maya Emmanuel and Whitney Hanson. Orie Randall had the clean sheet with two saves.

Thunderhawks win Hibbing Invite
Grand Rapids won all but three events at the eight-team meet, with Sophia Verke (200-yard individual medley, 100 backstroke) and Rowan Kreuger-Barth (50 freestyle, 100 butterfly) collecting two individual victories apiece. Both Verke and Kreuger-Barth were on two winning relays as well.
The Thunderhawks won with 608 points, followed by Mesabi East (424) and Rock Ridge (382).
