Iowa Attorney General Tom Miller announced Saturday that he will run for re-election in 2022.
Miller has served in the office for nearly 40 years, making him the longest-serving attorney general in the U.S.
“We have unfinished business, at least in my view,” Miller said, speaking about plans to use settlement payments from opioid manufacturers to aid Iowans affected by COVID-19. He also identified antitrust cases against big tech companies as an ongoing project.
Miller asked the crowd at the Polk County Democrats’ Steak Fry for support in his campaign.
“I’m looking forward to running again,” he said. “I’m looking forward to being part of a wonderful ticket.”
