The Miami Heat had a busy NBA offseason as they revamped their roster. After advancing to the NBA Finals in the Orlando Bubble in 2020, they were swept out of the first round by the eventual champion Milwaukee Bucks.
Looking to avoid that playoff letdown again, Pat Riley went to work this offseason for the Miami Heat. The team upgraded the point guard spot, acquiring Kyle Lowry from the Toronto Raptors in a sign-and-trade.
Joining Lowry as outside the Miami Heat organization signings are P.J. Tucker, who was signed away from the Bucks, and Markieff Morris, who was signed away from the Los Angeles Lakers.
Miami also re-signed Duncan Robinson in restricted free agency to the largest contract in league history for an undrafted player. Jimmy Butler agreed to a max extension as well, locking in this core for the foreseeable future.
One of the more underrated moves of the offseason for Miami was re-signing Victor Oladipo. At the NBA trade deadline, the Miami Heat acquired him in a trade from the Houston Rockets, but he appeared in only four games with the team.

He suffered another quadriceps injury that could keep him sidelined for the first few months of the season. But, some people are optimistic about what he will provide once he is healthy and ready to play.
“I’m just going to go out on a limb and say it. The Miami Heat bringing back Oladipo on the contract they did will be the steal of the offseason. I like what I’m seeing in his recovery, and I think he makes a huge impact this season.”
Oladipo had received some interest from contenders around the league in free agency. They knew he would be sidelined to begin the season, but getting him back for the second half would be the equivalent of trading for an All-Star caliber player.

Miami is now going to have that luxury. Victor Oladipo was showing some flashes of his old self last season before injuries slowed him down once again. There is a need for depth on the wing, so they could also be confident that Oladipo will be able to help them at some point this season.
