Minnesota Twins third baseman Josh Donaldson shared his belief as to why Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. should win AL MVP.

The 2021 MLB regular-season is only two weeks away from reaching its conclusion. That not only means that the postseason is close to starting, but it means that the year-end award debates begin.

Arguably the most contentious debate will be about the AL MVP award, which will likely be between Los Angeles Angels two-way player Shohei Ohtani and Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr.

After losing to the Blue Jays 6-2 on Saturday, Minnesota Twins third baseman Josh Donaldson shared his opinion that Guerrero should win the AL MVP over Ohtani.

On a game-to-game basis, Donaldson believes that Guerrero has made more of an impact on his team than Ohtani with the Angels.

One point that can be made in favor of Guerrero is that his play is helping the Blue Jays making a late push for a postseason berth. While Ohtani has been tremendous for the Angels, the team is well on the outside looking in for fall baseball.
