the thing is, it may look like jimi began writing songs at an incredibly fast rate in early 67, but its not quite what it seems. he had been working on riffs and so forth that ended up on the album Are You Experienced for months before he met Linda Keith, (who in turn alerted chas chandler about jimi). we're talking possibly as early as mid 1965. All jimi needed was to write lyrics for them, and chas helped. As far as the "Hendrix chord" mentioned in the article, its a dominate 7#9 chord. it was quite popular in early post war jazz, but fell out of use by the mid 50s.
