A Miami man trying to cross Interstate 75 on foot was killed early Saturday morning when he was hit by a pickup truck, reported the Florida Highway Patrol in a news release.

FHP does not release the names of people involved in crashes. The incident happened about 3:22 a.m. near mile marker 394 north of Gainesville.

The man, age 41, was hit by a southbound pickup truck driven by a 33-year-old Kentucky man. He also may have been hit by at least one other motorist who did not stop, FHP reported.

Neither the Kentucky man nor his passengers were injured.
