There has been a lot of focus on Bradley Beal this offseason. The Washington Wizards superstar is heading into what could be a contract season, so NBA trade rumors were persistent the last few months.

Beal has not said anything about wanting to leave Washington, but reports continually popped up that he would eventually ask for a trade. Near the NBA Draft, it was reported he contemplated asking for a trade to give the Wizards the best chance at making a deal.

That request never came, and instead, it was Russell Westbrook who was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers. Following that deal, many thought that Beal would be on his way out next and Washington would begin retooling.

It was quite the opposite that occurred. Washington has been building up the roster around Beal, acquiring Spencer Dinwiddie to take over as the starting point guard. With the young core they have put together and the veterans they acquired this offseason, Washington should once again challenge for a playoff spot.
