The No. 9 Ohio State Buckeyes will look to get back on track after being upset by Oregon last week. They will do so against the Tulsa Golden Hurricanes, who enter the game 0-2.
Last week, Ohio State faced Oregon in a highly anticipated matchup. Oregon entered the game without their top two defenders, so many anticipated an easy day for the Buckeyes. It was far from that. Oregon snatched control early and maintained it until the final score of 35-28.
Quarterback C.J. Stroud finished the game with 484 passing yards, three touchdowns and one interception. He and the Ohio State offense battled to keep it close, but the Buckeye defense couldn’t get stops.
They’ll hope to have a better performance this week against an 0-2 Tulsa Golden Hurricane team. The Golden Hurricanes have suffered two close defeats by a combined 7 points. The most recent to rival Oklahoma State, losing 28-23. Junior quarterback Davis Brin threw for 224 yards in a losing effort.
Tulsa will be playing to finally get into the win column, while the Buckeyes will be playing for their post-season life. Even though it’s early in the season, Ohio State has to run the table to have a chance to return to the College Football Playoff.
