Ready Player One Star Tye Sheridan Hypes Up Sequel

We already know that Ready Player One got a second novel that will soon be adapted into a sequel for the film. But what is the new movie going to be like? Tye Sheridan has confirmed that he has read Ernest Cline's latest work and he just can't help but hype up its live-action adaptation.

It has already been confirmed that Cline's second book Ready Player Two will be adapted as a sequel to the first movie. There have even been reports that the second film is already in development and we could be getting some updates really soon.

So does Sheridan already know what's happening in Ready Player Two? The X-Men: Apocalypse star told The Hollywood Reporter that he has already read Cline's second novel and was impressed with what the author had published.

"Yeah, I read [Ready Player Two]. It's interesting. I love Ernie. I love all the places that he's able to go and the worlds that he's able to imagine. So it's always fun reading his books," Sheridan said. He then continued by commenting on whether he will return as Wade Watts in the movie adaptation.

"In regard to a sequel of the film, I have no idea where they're at or what the talks are at the studio. It's just not up to me," Sheridan said.

For now, it looks like Ready Player Two is still in early development and it might take some time before we get any updates on the casting. Nevertheless, fans who have already read the novel are expecting Wade to be back in the sequel. Hopefully, there will be more news about Sheridan and Olivia Cooke's return for the second move. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.

Sheridan's most recent film The Card Counter was released on September 10, 2021.
