Amber Alert resolved in Riverside and San Bernardino Counties after missing 4-month-old girl is found

California Highway Patrol

The California Highway Patrol has issued an Amber Alert overnight on behalf of the Cathedral City Police Department for 4-month-old Ananaya Schoolcraft.

The father of the little girl said his sister, Julia Schoolcraft, stole his car and drove away when he parked at a local gas station and entered the store.

Officials said that the abduction happened at Date Palm Drive, near Adelina Road in Cathedral City.

Police said that around 2 a.m. they received a call for a vehicle that had been stolen with a 4-month-old baby inside.

Just before 5 a.m., Banning Police found the stolen vehicle in their jurisdiction and arrested the suspect.

The baby was found in a Motel 6 in Beaumont with friends of the suspect.

Julia Schoolcraft could be facing kidnapping, child endangerment, and vehicle theft charges.
