Storylines
•Arkansas will be fully healthy and have everyone available for the Georgia Southern Eagles.
•Georgia Southen’s starting quarterback will make his first start of the season after missing the first two games. Justin Tomlin could be dangerous with his legs. He is very athletic and directs the triple offense very well.
•Speaking of triple option, the offense is very difficult to stop play after play. The opposing defense must remain disciplined. That bodes well for Arkansas as their defense is one of the best in the nation at stopping the run game.
•John Ridgeway made his Razorback debut at defensive tackle last week against Texas. The mountain of a man was a definite impact player at nose tackle and will play a vital role this week stopping the run.
•The Eagles did go 8-5 last season and have played in three straight bowl games under their head coach Chad Lunsford. He is currently 29-20 overall as head coach for a program that has been very successful in their short stint in the FBS.
•The biggest question for the Hogs this weekend is “how will they respond following a huge win over rival Texas?”
Head Coach, Sam Pittman gave us the perfect answer this week.
“To be honest with you, I’m not one bit concerned about it, and I’m not going to talk about it a lot. From the way that we beat Mississippi State last year and went to Auburn and had that call at the end of the game. Our kids could have gotten the big head after Mississippi State, but they didn’t. They played a good game against Auburn. That happened.”
