The Bartlesville Bruins took a tough loss to 5A No. 1 Collinsville at home on Friday night. The 42-7 loss for the Bruins drops them to 1-2 on the season so far.

Things started off promising with Bartlesville scoring on its first drive of the game. Simian Gilkey would connect with Gage Keaton on a 42-yard strike. A few plays later the Bruins would go up as Gilkey found the endzone.

Unfortunately, that was the only score of the night for the Bruins. Collinsville would rattle off 42 unanswered points. The Bruins were within striking distance—only trailing 21-7 at halftime. In the second half Bartlesville would give up a pair of rushing touchdowns and then special teams snafu would lead to the final Cardinals touchdown.

Bartlesville will have another tough one with a home contest against Bixby next week.
