Indiana HS roundup: Mishawaka makes quick work of Plymouth

Sophomore quarterback Brady Fisher threw one touchdown reception and rushed for another score as Mishawaka beat Plymouth, 42-0, in Northern Lakes Conference action at Steele Stadium in Mishawaka Friday night. 

Mishawaka, ranked No. 6 in Class 5A, moves to 4-1 overall and 2-1 in the NlC. 

Chase Gooden led the Cavemen with seven carries for 56 yards and a touchdown. 

Mishawaka scoring included a 56-yard fumble recovery by defensive tackle Payton Jones and backup quarterback Jack Troyer scrambling in for another TD.

Washington 35, Clay 0 

Washington returned from a two-week COVID pause to shut out Clay at TCU School Field. 

Ty’shaun Grundy got the Panthers off to a quick start with rushing touchdowns of 36 yards and 22 yards in the opening quarter. Grundy would another 52-yard scoring run. He finished with five carries and 133 yards. 

Marshawn Lottie carried 10 times for 150 yards and two touchdowns for the Panthers, now 2-1 overall and 1-1 in the Northern Indiana Conference. Clay drops to 0-5 and 0-2. 

Triton 35, Culver 24 

Cole Shively connected with Cole Irvine three times and ran for another TD as Triton beat Culver in Hoosier North Conference game. 

Shively completed 6-of-8 passes for 101 yards and the three TDs. The Trojans are now 3-2 and 2-1. 

Anthony Schuh rushed 135 yards on 18 carries for Triton while Irvine racked up 72 reception yards.

Landon Buchanan rushed 99 yards on 18 carries and scored three touchdowns as Jimtown beat Bremen in a Northern Indiana Conference North-South Division battle. 

Johntu Reed had 96 rushing yards, including a 70-yard TD run. Tysen House threw for 67 yards on 3 of 5 attempts and had one touchdown. The Jimmies are now 3-2 and 2-0 in the NIC. 

For Bremen, Ethan Nunemaker threw for 95 yards and a TD while Austin McKenzie rushed 68 yards, including a TD. Bremen is 2-3 and 1-1.

Kaden Lone rushed 217 yards on 23 carries and scored four touchdowns as NorthWood beat Wawaseein a Northern Lakes Conference contest. 

Quarterback Ethan Evers was 15-of-29 for 187 yards and two touchdowns. JJ Payne caught all 15 of those passes for the yardages and the TDs. NorthWood is now 3-2 and 2-1. Wawasee falls to 0-5 and 0-3.

Sophomore quarterback Lucas Plummer ran for three touchdowns on runs ofof 22, 2 and 5 yards as LaVille beat Caston. Plummer also threw a TD pass in the win.

Glenn 28, Knox 7

Nathan Creed rushed for 170 yards and three touchdowns as Glenn topped Knox. Creed also had a passing TD.

Kory Vanhuss  had one touchdown and an interception while Aiden Johnson had one interception and one fumble recovery.

Concord 21, Goshen 12 

Concord jumped to a 21-0 lead before holding off Goshen in a Northern Lakes Conference game that included 16 quarterback sacks – 10 by Concord and six by Goshen. 

Concord had back-to-back sacks in the fourth quarter by junior linebacker Armen Koltookian to end a drive with 2:16 to play after Goshen had closed to 21-12. 

Zaven Koltookian had 5.5 sacks for the Minutmen. Mitch Daniels and Roman Schrock each had two sacks for Goshen. 

Goshen’s Brayden Hinkel had eight catches for 121 yards, all in the second half.
