MILL CREEK, Wash. -- A Mill Creek man was shot and wounded by his son early Friday after the younger man apparently thought an unknown intruder had entered their home, police said.
The incident occurred around 12:30 a.m. in a home in the 1700 block of 148th Street SE, police said in a written statement.
The 63-year-old victim, whose identity was not released, was taken to an area hospital for treatment of a non-life-threatening injury. Information about his condition was not immediately released.
Police said the son thought someone had broken into the home and was burglarizing it when he fired several shots, striking his father.
Police said their preliminary investigation found that the shooting was accidental and no charges have been filed in the case.
