Football: Ridge blanks Bridgewater-Raritan

Lucas Hudkins ran for 152 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries as Ridge used a powerful rushing attack and stout defensive effort to defeat Bridgewater-Raritan, 24-0, in Bridgewater.

Hudkins’ 1-yard TD run capped off an 11-play, 68-yard drive to open the game for Ridge (2-0). Quarterback Mike Olivo followed with a pair of 10-yard touchdown runs, one in the second quarter and the other in the third.

Olivo, a senior, ran the ball 10 times for 77 yards, he also completed 4-of-6 passes for 74 yards to give Ridge its fourth consecutive win over its Somerset County foe.

For Bridgewater-Raritan (2-1), Brady Kurdyla completed 8-of-13 passes for 120 yards. Evan Goldberg ran for 51 yards on nine carries, Dylan Corsi had three catches for 45 yards, and Matt Maciolek added two receptions for 53 yards.
