Ocean County COVID-19 vaccine tracker: 44% of people fully vaccinated

Ocean County has administered more than 597,453 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, as of Tuesday, according to data from the New Jersey Department of Health.

That's up 2.02% from the previous week's tally of 585,635 COVID-19 doses administered.

In Ocean County, 44% of residents are fully vaccinated as of Tuesday. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention considers someone fully vaccinated two weeks after they've been given a single-dose shot (Johnson & Johnson) or a second shot (either Pfizer or Moderna).

New Jersey reported 1,121,089 total cases of coronavirus, an increase of 1% from the week before.

The five counties with the highest percentage of their population fully vaccinated in New Jersey  are Morris (65%), Somerset (64%), Bergen (63%), Middlesex (60%) and Hudson (59%).
