Fatal Pedestrian Collision in Spring Valley

SAN DIEGO, CA (September 17, 2021) – Monday night, a man was killed in a pedestrian accident on Jamacha Boulevard.

Dispatchers arrived to the scene around 9:42 p.m., after receiving multiple calls in the area.

A 60-year-old man was either walking or running on the sidewalk of Jamacha Boulevard. For reasons unknown, he left the sidewalk and went directly into the path of a westbound Mercedes C350.

The pedestrian suffered critical injuries due to the impact of the crash. Despite life-saving efforts, paramedics pronounced him dead on scene.

In addition, the 77-year-old driver of the Mercedes remained at the site and cooperated with officials.

At this time, police do not suspect that drugs or alcohol played a factor in the collision. However, an active investigation into the pedestrian accident on Jamacha Boulevard is still ongoing.

The surrounding area was closed for over two hours during cleanup and preliminary duties. Although, the road has since been reopened.
