THE MATCHUP: For the first time in program history, the Stony Brook football team is set to square off with Oregon. The Seawolves and Ducks go head-to-head on Saturday, September 18, at 4:30 p.m. (PT)/7:30 p.m. (ET) on Pac-12 Network at Autzen Stadium in Eugene, OR. The game marks the first time ever that the Seawolves will face a Pac-12 opponent on the gridiron. No. 4 Oregon is the highest nationally ranked FBS opponent that Stony Brook has ever met. The Ducks are coming off one of their biggest wins in program history as they went on the road in Week 2 and defeated No. 3 Ohio State, 35-28, in Columbus.

STONY BROOK VS. FBS OPPONENTS: The meeting with the Ducks marks the 12th time in program history that the Seawolves will face an FBS opponent. Stony Brook's last victory against an FBS opponent came on September 29, 2012, when it defeated Army, 23-3. The Seawolves last played an FBS opponent on September 7, 2019, when they fell to Utah State.

QUOTES FROM THE SEAWOLVES: "I think we have to keep it in perspective; they are a top five team in the country at the BCS level. It's all about Stony Brook at this point. I think that we need to get better at the things we are doing and approach this week correctly. The opponent on any given day really doesn't make a difference, it's how you prepare, and that's how we will go about it. Certainly, it's a great opportunity for our guys to play in that venue and play against that type of team," said head coach Chuck Priore.

LAST TIME OUT: The Seawolves are coming off of their first win of the 2021 season as they defeated Colgate, 24-3, on Saturday, September 11. The running game paced the Stony Brook offense en route to the win. The Seawolves combined for 271 yards on the ground, their most in a single-game since they rushed for 296 yards against Delaware on November 16, 2019. Stony Brook's tenacious defense limited Colgate to just three points on Saturday. The three points were the fewest that the Seawolves allowed in a game since it also surrendered just a field goal against Delaware on November 10, 2018. After allowing a first quarter field goal, Stony Brook scored 24 unanswered points to knock off the Raiders in their home opener. Since the start of the 2011 season, Stony Brook has compiled a 47-6 record when scoring 24 or more points in a game.
