Man found shot to death in Dos Palos Friday identified

DOS PALOS, Calif. (FOX26) — A homicide investigation was launched near Dos Palos Friday afternoon.

Merced County sheriff’s deputies were called to the area of W Denton and Leak Rd and Palm Ave. north of Dos Palos around 1:00 p.m. for the report of a body.

Once Deputies arrived on the scene they found a man's body lying on the ground with several gunshot wounds.

The Sheriff’s Investigations Bureau was called out and began a homicide investigation.

The victim has been identified as 27-year-old Christian Castillo from Dos Palos.
