1 dead, road closed following motorcycle wreck in west Gastonia

A man died in a crash involving a motorcycle and a car Friday afternoon, according to Gastonia Police spokesman Rick Goodale. 

Police were called to the crash, located along Bessemer City Road at Holland Memorial Church Road, at 4:19 p.m.

Motorists should seek an alternative route. Police remain on the scene and have shutdown Bessemer City Road between Oates Road and Hendrick Road as the crash is investigated.
