Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Coronation Street’s Tyrone Dobbs got into a bit of a mishap during Friday’s (September 17) double-bill when he wrongly accused Phill of cheating.

During the first of the night's instalments, Tyrone's suspicions were aroused once again when his ex Fiz's new man dropped his car off at the garage for Tyrone and Kevin Webster to take a look at.

Phill asked if the two were "cool" and Tyrone said they were, but viewers know he's not all the way over his feelings for Fiz (despite his serious relationship with Alina Pop which ended this week). A clearly jealous Tyrone took it upon himself to search the car after Kevin reminded him his split from Fiz was all his fault, clearly hoping to get some dirt on the newcomer.

It seemed like all of Tyrone's Christmases had then come at once when he got his hands on a napkin with a mysterious woman named Brigitte's number written on it. The cunning mechanic told Kevin that it was supposedly proof Phill was "a player" and decided to keep hold of it.

Despite Kevin urging him not to, Tyrone clearly had some sinister plans in mind as he said he was going to tell Fiz about his discovery to prevent Phill from "breaking her heart".

In the second episode of the night, it was time for Tyrone to air his suspicions about Fiz's new flame. Tyrone headed over to Fiz's to babysit as she prepared for a romantic night out with Phill, seemingly with the intention to blow their night together to smithereens with his juicy piece of gossip.

Unable to keep his napkin discovery to himself, Tyrone couldn't hold his tongue and admitted to Fiz that he didn't trust her new man and thought they were moving too fast.

After Fiz told him to mind his own business, Tyrone then dropped the bombshell. "Has he told you all about Bridgette has he, ey?" he smugly asked his ex.

When Phill arrived to whisk Fiz away, Fiz gave Tyrone an earful about how much she trusts her new boyfriend. Tyrone then took it upon himself to confront Phill in the street, accusing him point-blank of cheating on Fiz with her. But, well, that didn't exactly go to plan.

Phill revealed the identity of the mysterious Brigitte was actually the professional chef he'd hired to cook a romantic dinner for himself and Fiz that evening. Whoopsie!

Fiz was clearly pretty thrilled to see her ex make such a fool of himself after everything they'd been through with Alina, and Tyrone was left red-faced over his former love once again.

"Fiz is right, he's not like me, he's way better," a defeated Tyrone later told Kevin of Phill, with Tyrone left seething when his mate revealed he was going to watch the football match the next day in Phill's plush box.

But will Tyrone ever be able to make nice with the newcomer?

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm.
