Delaware State Police have deemed Concord Mall safe after a report of a shooting in Brandywine Hundred, Delaware.

WILMINGTON, Delaware (WPVI) -- A shooting at the Concord Mall in Delaware left a 22-year-old man from Chester, Pa. wounded Friday.

Police responded just after 4:30 p.m. to the mall in the 4700 block of Concord Pike in Brandywine Hundred.

There has been no information released on a suspect, but one person was wounded, police say.

Chopper 6 HD was over the Concord Mall as police surrounded the entrance next to the Boscovs Department store.

"I was terrified. I just wanted to get my kids to safety," said Jaunesha Woods from Claymont. "I just saw a bunch of people running, and next thing you know, I saw all the stores closing the gates."

Shop owner Eminn Bulut says he closed his gates and rushed customers to safety. Then he saw who he believed was the victim.

"The guy had some friend. They carried him. I think he got shot in the leg. There was blood on the floor," said Bulut.

Shoppers say the shooting happened inside the H&M clothing store inside the mall. There were reports of a large group in the store. Then customers heard gunfire.

Delaware State Police confirm the one shooting victim was taken to an area hospital.

The mall entrances remained closed Friday. Customers and employees that were still inside were given the okay to leave once the situation was deemed safe.
