Jennifer L Kaine, age 51, of Menomonee Falls, Wis., and Adam G. Gauckler, age 38, of Caledonia, Wis., were riding a 2021 Polaris ATV, traveling southbound on a public ATV trail west of County Rd. B in the Township of Harrison, on Saturday, Sept. 11, when Gauckler lost control. The ATV hit a tree and rolled, and both Kaine and Gauckler were ejected from the ATV, according to a press release from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department. Kaine was flown to an area hospital where she died from her injuries. Gauckler sustained non-life threatening injuries. Neither were wearing helmets, all according to the release.
Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputies, Lincoln County EMS, and Russell First Responders all responded to the scene.
The crash remains under investigation; however, alcohol does not appear to be a factor, the press release said.
