Virtuoso guitarist Ana Vidovic to perform Rodrigo’s Concierto de Aranjuez with New Jersey Festival Orchestra

(WESTFIELD, NJ) -- Internationally acclaimed classical guitarist Ana Vidovic will join NJ Festival Orchestra, for “Moonlit Serenades,” a superb live orchestral concert under the stars in the gardens of one of Westfield’s most magnificent residences on Saturday, October 2 at 7:30pm. Ms. Vidovic will perform Rodrigo’s famous Concierto de Aranjuez

“NJFO prides itself on presenting world-class guest artists and this event is no exception,” enthused Maestro David Wroe. “Ana’s formidable gifts place her amongst the elite classical guitarists in the world. We at NJFO are all thrilled and honored to be partnering with such an extraordinary talent and wonderful personality!”

Ms Vidovic’s international performance career includes frequent recitals, concerto engagements and festival appearances in most of Europe’s cultural destinations including Amsterdam, London, Paris, Rome, Vienna, Warsaw and Zagreb. Her tours have also taken her to Australia, Brazil, Israel, Japan, Korea and Mexico.

She has won many elite international competitions and has been featured in three television documentaries and has recorded six CDs and been featured in two DVDs: “Guitar Artistry in Concert,” and “Guitar Virtuoso.”

Guitar Review's Stephen Griesgraber noted: "It is difficult to know where to begin when discussing the enormous talents of Ana Vidovic. Her dynamic range, beauty of sound, precision of articulation and virtuosity are such that listening becomes more of an absolute musical experience."

Ana Vidovic comes from the small town of Karlovac near Zagreb, Croatia, and started playing guitar at the age of 5. At age 7, she gave her first public performance and at the age of 11 she was performing internationally. At age 13 she became the youngest student to attend the prestigious National Musical Academy in Zagreb. Ms. Vidovic’s reputation in Europe led to an invitation to study with Manuel Barrueco at the Peabody Conservatory.

Ms Vidovic will join NJFO to perform one of the world’s most well known and most loved guitar concertos, Rodrigo’s Concierto de Aranjuez. Rounding off the moonlit concert is another favorite: Mozart’s Symphony No. 40.

“The famous Rodrigo guitar concerto and Mozart under moonlight! I can hardly imagine a more idyllic, romantic, and intoxicating event,” exclaimed Maestro Wroe. "The Concierto de Aranjuez is the most famous work of classical music to come from Spain. Everyone will recognize it! "
