Indiana's largest hospital system says more than 100 workers left the company over the COVID-19 vaccine requirement.Indiana University Health said more than 300 were suspended for two weeks, unpaid, to either get the vaccine or risk termination. That period that ended Tuesday, Sept. 14, and IU Health said 125 people left the system.They said most worked part-time and they will have minimal effect on staffing.IU Health announced its vaccine mandate in June for all doctors, nurses and other employees. "We want to increase the vaccination rates within our own staffs because we need to keep them safe, patients and family members who visit," said Brian Tabor, president of the Indiana Hospital Association.He said he believes more health systems could require employee vaccination after President Joe Biden's recent announcement requiring everyone who works at private companies of more than 100 people get vaccinated.
