Final Trailer and Poster for the Musical DEAR EVAN HANSEN Featuring the Song "Waving Through a Window"

The final trailer has been released for the film Dear Evan Hansen that was adapted from the Tony-award winning Broadway show of the same name. This trailer features the song “Waving Through a Window” that is featured in the show and film, and is sung by the title character, played by Ben Platt. He is joined in the cast by Amy Adams, Julianne Moore, Kaitlyn Dever, Amandla Stenberg, Nik Dodani, Danny Pino, Colton Ryan, and DeMarius Copes.

Here’s the synopsis:

The breathtaking, generation-defining Broadway musical phenomenon becomes a soaring cinematic event as Tony, Grammy & Emmy Award winner Ben Platt reprises his role as an anxious, isolated high schooler aching for understanding and belonging amid the chaos and cruelty of the social-media age. A high school senior with Social Anxiety disorder and his journey of self-discovery and acceptance following the suicide of a fellow classmate.

Dear Evan Hansen is directed by Stephen Chbosky (The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Wonder) from a screenplay by Steven Levenson, featuring music and lyrics by Benj Pasek & Justin Paul; based on the stage musical by Levenson, Pasek and Paul.

I love this soundtrack, and have never been able to see the musical, so I am really looking forward to this film. I know it is going to be a tearjerker, but I am excited. Check out the film’s final trailer and poster below, and watch Dear Evan Hansen in theaters on September 24th.
