Iowa Department of Corrections confirms latest pandemic-related inmate death
The Iowa Department of Corrections confirmed Friday that an inmate has died due to COVID-19 complications.Ray Gene Triplett, 57, died Wednesday at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.The Iowa DOC said Triplett was transported to the hospital from the Iowa State Penitentiary due to his declining health. Triplett had been serving a life sentence in Scott County for first-degree sex abuse.According to the Iowa DOC, 22 inmates in the state have died due to COVID-19.

The Iowa Department of Corrections confirmed Friday that an inmate has died due to COVID-19 complications.
