On Thursday, the Utah Department of Health reported another large number of new COVID cases – 1,885 – with 582 hospitalized COVID-19 patients.
Over the past several weeks, officials at Intermountain Health said ICUs and acute care units have regularly exceeded 100% capacity.
As of Friday morning, patient volumes in Intermountain’s ICUs across the state are at 100% and 97% in acute care units.
Doctors and health officials continue to urge everyone to get vaccinated as the vast majority of hospitalized COVID-19 patients are unvaccinated.
