If you subscribed to HBO through Amazon Prime Video Channels, there’s both bad and good news for you. We’ll start with the bad: HBO is no longer available as an added subscription on Prime Video. Ugh! But if you still want to subscribe to watch shows like Succession, Scenes from a Marriage, and Curb Your Enthusiasm, the good news is that HBO Max is offering a whopping 50% off for all new and returning subscribers.
Folks who accessed HBO via Prime Video Channels, as well as new and returning HBO Max subscribers, can now enjoy the HBO Max ad-free monthly plan for $7.49 per month for up to six months (at which point the price will increase to the normal rate of $14.99/mo). The deal begins today and will last through next Sunday, Sept. 26.
For the remainder of the year, this ad-free plan will continue to offer streaming premieres of Warner Bros. films that arrive in theaters at the same time. At the moment, James Wan’s horror flick Malignant and Clint Eastwood’s new western Cry Macho are streaming. Films set to arrive later this year are The Sopranos prequel The Many Saints of Newark, Dune, King Richard, and The Matrix Resurrections. New Warner Bros. films stream for 31 days before leaving the platform.
And if those titles aren’t enough to convince you to subscribe, take a look at the upcoming HBO and HBO Max TV programming. Doom Patrol will arrive next week to round out a packed September on the streamer, with an October full of promising returns. Shows like Succession, Insecure, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Love Life, and Selena + Chef will air new seasons next month. Gossip Girl and How To With John Wilson will also air new episodes in November.
