There’s a raccoon eating king crab legs in your attic, workers tell Pa. homeowners

A man and his family who had moved to the suburbs of Philadelphia were told there was a raccoon in their attic.

This supposed raccoon was also, apparently, munching on king crab legs as it squatted in the Montgomery County home.

Published on WHYY’s Billy Penn website, writer Drew Olanoff writes that, despite never having seen himself as a “suburb dweller” he and his wife decided to relocate during the COVID-19 pandemic to a very old house that had more space and less people around it.

While Olanoff and kin made the move over a year ago, it was only on Tuesday that a strange series of events began to occur. During some maintenance work in which the century-old house was getting its HVAC, electricity and one of its bathrooms updated, an electrician in the attic notified Olanoff that he came upon a raccoon in the attic that not only threateningly hissed at him, but was eating crab legs.

Thus launched Olanoff and crew into a days-long saga in which all didn’t appear to be what it initially seemed.
