I think it's pretty safe to say at this point that out of all the upcoming DC Extended Universe projects, fans are most excited about Ezra Miller's The Flash film, and quite frankly, how can you not be stoked? The film is loosely based on the now-iconic Flashpoint storyline from the comics and there have been rumblings over the last couple of months that the film will create a seismic shift in the franchise. In short, the long-rumored DCEU reboot could finally take place in the film.

WB has been notorious for being "overly involved" when it comes to the DCEU and for years now, fans are collectively convinced that it's the culprit for the franchise not being able to get to that next level. However, it looks like the studio is high on director Andy Muschietti and what he's been doing so far.

Hollywood insider Grace Randolph took to Twitter to report that the studio is pretty pleased with the film and in fact, they are already trying to secure a deal to make the sequel. I'm not entirely sure what that means considering they pretty much call the shots and could easily greenlight The Flash 2 if they wanted to, but I'm guessing it has something to do with the project's actors, most especially Michael Keaton who is making his triumphant return as Batman after 30 years.

I sincerely hope that The Flash becomes a critical and theatrical smash hit because the source material alone is one of the greatest modern-day DC stories and you simply cannot screw that up. Now's the time for the franchise to step up and be more cohesive because lets be honest, the potential has long been wasted.

The Flash is slated for release in November 2022.
