   Private interment for Tami Mitchell Hefner, 73, of Gainesville and formerly of Habersham County, was held at Hazel Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

   Mrs. Hefner passed away Sunday, Sept. 5, 2021.

   Born Sept. 24, 1947, in Owensboro, Kentucky, Mrs. Hefner was the daughter of the late Jack and Willie Lou Moore Mitchell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Hefner.

   Tami was in the nursing profession beginning at age 15 as a candy striper in Athens. She later earned her Nurse Practitioner license from North Georgia College and worked locally at The Oaks at Scenic View, Lee Arrendale State Prison, White County Detention Center, and the practice of Dr. James G. Hamilton Jr. Tami recently attended The Torch and formerly attended Macedonia Baptist Church and Hazel Grove Baptist Church.

   Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Keisha White Hefner of Andrews, North Carolina; daughter and son-in-law, Amy Hefner Callahan and Joey Callahan of Gainesville; grandchildren, Bella and E.J. Callahan; and siblings, Vici Payne, Jack Mitchell and Danny Mitchell, all of Athens.
