Gators News: Four teams on tap for big game day weekend

The big game is nearly here! Tomorrow, the No. 1 college football team in the nation pays a visit to the Swamp as the Gators kick off their 2021 Southeastern Conference schedule. But as the days of September fly by, more and more Florida sports are joining the fray and this weekend sees another kick off its campaign while three others continue to compete. Here is a look at what is on tap the next few days.

Men's golf

The men’s golf team kicks off its fall season today at the 15th annual OFCC/Fighting Illini Invitational which runs until Sunday. This morning’s opening tee-off came at 9 a.m. EDT, as will tomorrow’s, while Sunday starts at 8:30 a.m. EDT. The scoring can be followed using Golf Stat.

Soccer

The soccer team looks to get back on the winning track with a pair of games this weekend, starting with the Vanderbilt Commodores on Friday night in Nashville starting at 8 p.m. EDT. Then on Sunday, the squad returns to Gainesville to host the North Florida Ospreys with first draw slated for 6 p.m. EDT. Both events can be followed on the SEC Network+ and 98.1 FM / 850 AM.

Volleyball

The No. 14 volleyball team also looks to return to its winning ways when they host the Coastal Carolina Chanceliers this weekend for a two-game series to close out Florida’s non-conference schedule. Saturday’s affair starts at 12 p.m. EDT in the O’Connell Center while Sunday’s first serve is scheduled for 1 p.m. EDT. Both games can be followed on the SEC Network+ and 98.1 FM / 850 AM.
