The whacked house

An off-duty state trooper drove a mile on three wheels before crashing his truck into a Quincy home.

As Quincy Quarry was busy covering the over top Generals events in Quincy last week, it is pleased that its media brethren at Boston 25 unleashed its newshounds on the curious case of a locally resident state trooper whacking a house.

The trooper plowed his pickup truck into Houghs Neck house sometime after closing time late one night over the Labor Day weekend and then Quincy Quarry’s arguably then first broke the news of the incident.

In turn, and as one can only reasonably expect, things have only became curiouser and curiouser, if not also even curiouser yet.

For example, it would appear that the trooper first whacked a guard rail roughly a mile away and so lost both the right front wheel of his truck along with part of his front axle as well as struck a parked guard before he then lost control of the ride and so ended up whacking a house.

That and how the Quincy Police Department initially claimed cluelessness about much of the incident as well as that the incident report paperwork was as thin as Quincy Mayor Thomas P. Koch is not.

Not that this is anything new when it comes to misdoings of those whom the department brass knows.

For but two examples among the surely all but innumerable.

The first case involves Quincy’s double and sometimes even triple dipper.

And then even earlier is the story about an aide to Mayor Quincy Mayor Thomas P. Koch and now his Chief of Staph who is said to have similarly failed to successfully make a turn in the wee hours.

In turn, the staffer ended up both losing a front wheel and ending up hors de combat in the landscaping in the front of the Quincy Police headquarters.

Then again, that a contentious mayoral election was but days away had nothing to do with anything.

In any event, one can read the text of Boston 25’s coverage here or view the Boston 25 Investigates video here to see what is an oh-so Quincy sort of story.
