DeMarcus Cousins was appreciated by not only LA Clippers fans, but the franchise in itself as well.

Cousins wasn’t expected to do a ton for the Clippers this season, but actually really stepped up for the Clippers when they truly needed his services most. Serge Ibaka came back from injury towards the end of the regular season just to end up having to miss the rest of the postseason after just two playoff games. Ivica Zubac ended up having to miss the last two games of the Western Conference Finals himself.

In those two games, the Clippers needed a center to step up. Boogie Cousins ended up being that guy. He had a playoff career-high of 15 points in our Game 5 win on 7 of 12 shooting, and had 12 in Game 6, nailing two out of three three-point shots. While his efforts weren’t enough to gather a ton of interest from NBA teams in free agency this offseason, Boogie may still be playing pro basketball next year.

There are reportedly three Chinese league teams who are ‘very interested’ in ex-LA Clipper DeMarcus Cousins.

The report comes from sohu.com, and DeMarcus Cousins proved in the postseason with the LA Clippers that he still has quality basketball left in him.

Cousins still draws double-teams, and as I pointed out earlier; still shoots well and finishes when he’s out there. The issue with him coming back to the NBA is how long he can be out there.

He’s not too old at 31 years old, but he has had many serious injuries that have broken his body down a little bit. Part of the reason what he did in those last two Western Conference Finals games this past year was so impressive was that he did it all in 25 total minutes.

It wasn’t completely by design, however. Ty Lue would have had him in there longer if his body could have taken the workload. Again, there was only one other healthy center on the roster at that time in Daniel Oturu.

Cousins could have a much easier time in the Chinese League, and would be able to have a bigger role with a team. After the Clippers went out and signed Harry Giles, it appeared that Cousins’ tenure with the Clippers has likely come to an end. The Chinese league, however, seems to be open to giving Cousins a chance to keep his basketball career going.
