Black Adam, the upcoming DC movie depicting the origin story of the titular enemy of Shazam, sounds like it's been very entertaining to be a part of, with star Pierce Brosnan describes it as an "ensemble piece" rather than a picture with one actor out there in front, hogging the limelight.
Brosnan is playing Doctor Fate in the movie, a sorcerer who assists in the creation of the Justice Society of America and fights against evil forces that threaten Earth. Though we aren't sure of the direction that the story will take, Black Adam isn't a joiner, and he's got a short fuse to boot.
"He's not the boy scout superhero," said producer Hiram Garcia. "He's the guy that's like, okay, you cross him? Well, I rip your head off, and then I move on to the next guy." Alright. Message received. While things are being kept under lock and key at Warner Bros., Brosnan was recently able to shed a little light on what fans have to look forward to.

"It's an ensemble piece," explained the actor in an interview with Collider. "You have Dwayne, who's at the pinnacle of his fame and fortune and success and popularity. He is magnificent as Black Adam. We are the Justice Society and there's four of us, so we became a strong quartet of actors.
"The writing was very good. There was just enough beats. You just want three good beats. If you have three good scenes to hang your hat and your heart on, then you can make something of your days. For me, Black Adam had that," continued Brosnan. He elaborated to praise the adaptability of director Jaume Collet-Serra, who is known for the horror movies Orphan and The Shallows, and more recently, the new adventure movie Jungle Cruise.

"I could say, 'What about this line? What about that line?' He had a very good ear and sensitivity," he said. Black Adam might be a while off, as it premieres in July of next year, but it seems to be on the right track for fans of the DC Comics universe.
