POUGHKEEPSIE— Democrat Alana Wade has announced that she is withdrawing from the November race for 8th ward Councilperson. The announcement was made by her campaign manager Joash Ward, a former mayoral candidate.

The statement announcing the withdrawal cited “health conditions” as the reason she is not running.

“After much prayer and consideration, Alana Wade is suspending her campaign to become Poughkeepsie’s 8th Ward Councilperson. She is asking the public to respect her privacy on this matter,” her campaign manager said.

Ms. Ward added “I want to thank everyone who supported me in this process, and my neighbors who placed their confidence in me. Together, we can move Poughkeepsie forward.”
