Joey Bosa raves about Tyron Smith ahead of Chargers-Cowboys clash

The Dallas Cowboys are gearing up for a West Coast trip to face the Los Angeles Chargers in beautiful SoFi Stadium. After a gut-wrenching loss on opening night against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Cowboys will try to avoid going 0-2 to begin the year.

The Cowboys had a ton of positives from the loss, including the stellar play of veteran Tyron Smith, who looks healthy after having surgery that ended his 2020 campaign.

However, Smith’s matchup with the Chargers provides a tough challenge: Joey Bosa will rush the passer on every pass play, not to mention former Trojans star Uchenna Nwosu as well. Bosa spoke about the challenge of facing Smith. The ex-Trojan is back to his healthy form and ready to roll.

That’s big praise from Bosa, who is an All-Pro talent and one of the best pass rushers in the NFL year after year. There is no doubt that Smith has been one of the best at his position for a long, long time. The Cowboys’ seven-time Pro Bowler is a huge piece to their success.

The suspension of La’el Collins means Smith has even more pressure to protect Dak Prescott as well. This Charger pass rush isn’t an easy one to stop.

Nonetheless, Smith is still a monster to deal with up front. As good as Bosa is, he will have his hands full on Sunday in what should be a fantastic game between two teams with playoff hopes.
