SPCA Tampa Bay Is Ready To Clear The Shelter On Saturday, 60+ Animals Need Homes

Largo, Fla.- SPCA Tampa Bay will host its Clear the Shelters annual adoption event on Saturday, September 18. More than 60 animals will be available for adoption.

Plus, every adoption fee paid will generate a donation to SPCA Tampa Bay from its sponsors.

Animal shelters, like SPCA Tampa Bay, across the country, have been celebrating pet companionship since August 23. National sponsors have been urging communities to adopt and donate to local animal shelters.

As part of the 2021 event, more than 1,000 shelters and rescues have participated in this year’s campaign across the USA and Puerto Rico.

Since its inception in 2015, Clear the Shelters has helped more than half a million pets find new homes. The 2020 campaign led to more than 140,000 adoptions (about 70 in 2020 for SPCA Tampa Bay in one day) and, for the first time, included virtual adoptions and online donations, which raised more than $1.2 million for animal shelters and rescues.

SPCA Tampa Bay will have dogs, cats, and pockets pets available. Some of our temporary guests have arrived from the Gulf Coast as part of the Hurricane Ida relief efforts and some are just arriving from foster families. The time these dogs, cats, and pocket pets spend with SPCA Tampa Bay is only temporary and the love they can bring to a family will last a lifetime.

SPCA Tampa Bay opens at Noon on Saturday, September 18, and will have social distance measures in place to accommodate the community.
