I can not recall a recent season that felt this weirdly excited for the Golden State Warriors. Sure, the addition of Kevin Durant in 2016 made the anticipation for that year unreal. However, when was the last time the Dubs had this much cautious optimism?

There is a realistic scenario in which the Warriors fire on all cylinders, win more than 50 games and storm to an NBA Finals berth. Just as realistic is a jumbled season of unfamiliarity among the stars and rookies — leading to an early first round exit.
