Keith Urban is known for his great guitar playing and now he’s hoping to help other guitar lovers.
Keith has teamed with Yamaha to help young people learn to play guitar, with the company releasing an affordable acoustic guitar called “URBAN”, along with a mobile app that will connect people will lessons from Keith and fellow musician JUNO. Through the app folks will learn tuning, chords, strumming strokes, and even get lessons on how to play songs like “Old Town Road,” “Bad Moon Rising,” and Keith’s “Cop Car.”
“Seeing people spend tons of money on guitar just to find if they wanna play, that's ridiculous," Keith shares, "I'm quite sure we can build an affordable guitar that's high-quality, that feels good when you pick it up."
But Keith warns potential guitar players not to expect to play like him overnight. "Going at it at your own pace, not trying to rush too far ahead," Keith shares. "Getting a feel for what you do. And if you've got a desire to keep going with it, keep going with it."
